2024 Regional Legislative Summit

Communities United in 2024 to Fix Our Ferries

2024 Fix Our Ferries Regional Legislative Summit

Saturday, November 16th at the Rosehill Community Center, Mukilteo, WA

10am - 12:15pm - Legislative and Stakeholder Panels

12:30pm - 1:30pm - Lunch Break and Keynote: Marine transit and emerging alternatives, Peter Philips, Colibri NW

1:45pm - 2:45pm - Media and Messaging Breakout Workshops with Beth Lindsay and Rick Wallace

3pm - 4pm - Regional Joint Action Planning Sessions: Lobby Days and Community Action Days

The Washington State Ferry crisis affects the economic health and quality of life of people and businesses across the state. Fruit from Yakima rots on Seattle docks. Patients miss critical medical treatments and ambulances are delayed on hospital runs. Children, students, and the elderly are stranded. Residents lose wages and jobs. Businesses lose employees and vital income. Island economies and the State of Washington lose tourist dollars. Our communities are sinking under this burden.

We invite citizen activists, advocates, city, county, and local agency leadership, Ferry Advisory Committees, chambers of commerce, tourism agencies, and all ferry stakeholders to come together for this critical opportunity to support ferry funding and advocacy. We will:

  • Discuss 2025 legislative session priorities with legislators and local elected officials.
  • Craft a shared advocacy agenda and plan joint media and grassroots actions.
  • Learn together from our shared successes and challenges locally and regionally.
  • Create vital regional connections and leave the day united in common purpose.

Whether you are already connected and active in ferry advocacy, or a community member new to advocacy but dedicated to change, this summit will connect you with the information you need to help us fund and fix our ferries!
